An iconic Sydney venue let down by its booking journey.

Coogee Bay Hotel is one of Sydney's best-known beachside venues. Online, though, the experience didn't match the brand. The site looked the part on desktop but collapsed on mobile — exactly where most of the audience was searching.

Diners were forced to phone the venue or wrestle with a clunky third-party widget to lock in a table. Pages took 3-4 seconds to load on 4G, so plenty of beach-goers never even made it to the reservations screen. The result was abandoned visits and front-of-house staff stuck on the phones.

We rebuilt the site from the ground up around one outcome: turn a mobile beach-goer into a confirmed guest in under 30 seconds. That meant a fast, headless front end, a custom booking module wired into the venue's POS, and analytics that let us tighten the funnel weekly.

Behind the scenes, we built a concierge dashboard so the front-of-house team could see real-time bookings, flag VIP repeat diners and serve the floor — instead of fielding the phones.
